LYCRA® fiber is branded spandex, also called elastane, that helps socks stretch and recover for a close, comfortable fit. Compared with an otherwise similar knit made without elastane, it adds elastic recovery to the construction. It can be incorporated into cuffs, arch areas and other fit zones in everyday and sports socks. Final support depends on the yarn content and knit design.
02
COOLMAX® EcoMade
Moisture management
COOLMAX® EcoMade technology uses recycled polyester fibers engineered to move moisture from the skin toward the fabric surface, supporting dry comfort in active socks. Compared with virgin-polyester options, its distinct material choice is recycled feedstock. Moisture management also depends on fiber geometry, yarn blend and knit construction, so recycled content alone does not establish better performance. Suitable applications include running, training and everyday active socks.
03
THERMOLITE®
Lightweight warmth
THERMOLITE® technology uses hollow polyester fibers to help trap insulating air for lightweight warmth. Compared with conventional solid polyester fibers, its distinguishing feature is the hollow structure designed to retain air within the fiber. It can be considered for cold-weather, hiking and winter sports socks when warmth and manageable bulk matter. Finished-sock warmth depends on the blend, thickness and knit construction.
04
Merino wool
Natural comfort
Merino wool is a natural fiber that absorbs and releases moisture vapour and helps buffer changes in temperature and humidity next to the skin. Compared with conventional polyester, it manages more moisture within the fiber itself, offering a different route to comfort. It is a useful material for hiking, travel and everyday socks. The final feel and care requirements depend on fiber fineness, blend and finishing.
05
PrimaLoft® Performance Yarn
Softness & blend options
PrimaLoft® Performance Yarn uses ultra-fine polyester fibers for a soft hand-feel, with 100% polyester and merino-wool blend options for sock development. Compared with an all-merino yarn, the polyester component in a merino blend is designed to retain less moisture and support faster drying while retaining the wool component’s natural comfort. These yarns can be considered for outdoor, hiking and everyday comfort socks; specifications are selected for each project.
These descriptions explain fiber and yarn characteristics. Suitability and finished-sock performance depend on the selected blend, knit structure and testing. Material availability and branded labeling are confirmed per project.
